To clear trees and undergrowth  more quickly, corporations use explosives to murder the trees and send the wildlife running, flying, crawling, slithering and tiptoing for their lives.  Little survives.

This piece is  an expression of anger and grief at the wanton despoiling of the Earth's most  beautiful, diverse and thrilling ecology that has to stop NOW. The verse, a Quintain by Bridget reads:-

Bombs in the Amazon

Defenceless against attack

Earth’s lungs torn

The return from this knock-back?

Four thousand desolate years
